Helena and her lawyer prepare to meet with the lawyer representing Dylan and Danny when Peggy Peabody arrives to enter the mediation. In a tense stand-off, Peggy reveals that Danny has been turned down five times for Peabody grants and that he has used his girlfriend as a means of revenge against the Peabody refusal to fund his work. Peggy decides that she's going to lose the court case either way, so they'll take it to court. Dylan and Helena are both uncomfortably silent during the legal bickering, and as Dylan prepares to leave, Helena quietly asks Dylan to simply say she never loved her and she never wants to see her again. Dylan struggles against the silence and then akwardly says she never wants to see Helena again. Heartbroken, Helena takes a pen and signs the off on the lawsuit, effectively giving millions to Dylan and Danny.
